About ISEB
ISEB assessments are used by many independent schools, and come in two distinct forms.
The ISEB Common Pre-Test is an adaptive online assessment — the difficulty of each question adjusts based on previous answers — covering English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
The ISEB Common Entrance is more curriculum-based, sat later, and may include subjects such as Science and Humanities alongside English and Mathematics.
Because the Pre-Test is adaptive, consistent accuracy matters more than speed alone — a wrong answer early on can shift the difficulty of the rest of the test.
